But already you're disqualifying the Odyssey. Quite a few Jalops will warrant its existence. Frankly in the minivan sector, it's not a bad car. Consistently ranks #1 or #2 in reviews.

Every single thing that you listed fulfills a purpose or requirement that someone has. To you it may be meaningless, but to that person, I guess it is good. Even if it is Justin Bieber.

My problem with the Odyssey is this; the entire segment has gone into "Who the hell designed this" land of "What the fuck is that"

I sometimes drive around in a 06 one. I like it. Its unassuming, it does its job, it has yet to fall apart. Its also red, which is nice.

But the new minivans, all of them, just seem like they're trying soooooooo damn hard to get attention.

I agree with that rhetoric completely. But when there are no viable alternatives. You have to make do with what you have. The previous gen Odysseys were really nice. Aside from the whole 'time space transmission problem continuum'.
